Couture Techniques 2

Couture Techniques is a core Fashion & Textiles subject which students undertake within the 2nd year of the course. The student’s learning is studio based and introduces students to – draping methodology, designing on the body and developing garments that are suited for the couture market.

The student bodice project evolved from a conversation that considered linking embroidery and fashion design within a core Fashion and Textiles subject, which aimed at creating ‘embroiders of the future’ through embroidery guild members passing on elite knowledge and skills to our students within a fashion context.
